Day-by-day
Day 1
Lake Manyara National Park
Pick up from your hotel at 8am and start a beautiful journey across the Great Rift Valley for a full-day game drive. Although small in dimension, the park has breathtaking scenery and is famous for its lush acacia forest, giant figs and mahogany trees, as well as a growing population of baboons and blue monkeys. Residents include giraffes, elephants, impalas, buffaloes and a large number of hippos. Optional bike tour or boat excursion. Afternoon return to camp for dinner. Note: this park can be replaced with Tarangire, or add an extra day and visit both.
Day 2
Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, depart towards the most famous national park in the world, the Serengeti. The drive itself, although long, is spectacular. As you progress into the Serengeti, you will see why the name means 'endless plains'. The park is home to the Great Migration, 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras and all kinds of antelopes, plus lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas. Possibility to upgrade your accommodation level.
Day 3
Serengeti to Ngorongoro
A very early wake-up for a morning game drive when the animals are most active and one of the best sunrises you'll ever witness. After a rewarding brunch, proceed to Ngorongoro, the 8th wonder of the natural world — a crater of 102 sq. miles with 2,000 ft high walls, home to the black rhino, flamingos on the soda lake and some of the largest-tusked elephants in the world. You will reach Ngorongoro in time for a sundowner.
Day 4
Ngorongoro Crater & Flight to Zanzibar
Start very early and descend into the crater floor for an incredible morning of wildlife in one of the most stunning places on Earth. Picnic lunch near the beautiful hippo lake, then a short game drive before ascending the crater. Transfer to the airport for a flight to Zanzibar around 4pm for three days of relaxation with amazing views.
Day 5
Zanzibar
Rest and enjoy this paradise of white-sand beaches and the turquoise water of the Indian Ocean. Optional activities include a day tour of Stone Town (guided Old Town tour, Spice Tour and Prison Island) or a half-day tour of any one of them.
Day 6
Zanzibar
Another day at leisure on the beach. Another suggestion is the Jozani Forest tour to see the endemic red colobus monkeys, or simply relax by the ocean and enjoy the island's famous sunsets.
Day 7
Zanzibar Departure
Spend the last hours of your journey relaxing before your transfer to Zanzibar airport for your international flight.
